UA-30 Application Guide
Recording a guitar or vocal
Recording only guitar (vocal)
With these settings, the line input and guitar (vocal) will be mixed and output
to the monitor, but only the guitar (vocal) will be recorded on the computer.
The signal that is input from the Guitar/Mic input jack is not directly output
to the digital output jacks.
Make connections as shown in the following diagram.

Set the recording sample rate of your recording application to the desired
setting. (The available sample rates will depend on your application. For
details refer to the owners manual for your application.)

Use the Line input adjustment slider and Guitar/Mic input adjustment
slider to adjust the balance. If the LED above the slider lights red, use the
slider to lower the input level.
The UA-30 does not
support the miniature
microphone (condenser
mic) that may have been
included with your
computer or sound card.

If you change the position
of the Sample rate select
switch or the Recording
input select switch, you
must first exit all
applications including the
UA-30 D-Out Smoother
(p. 37). You should also
turn down the volume of
any audio amp system
that is connected.
Acoustic feedback may be
produced depending on
the location of
microphones relative to
speakers. This can be
remedied by changing the
orientation of the
microphone(s), relocating
microphone(s) at a greater
distance from speakers, or
lowering volume levels.
