Basic operation for Cool Edit Pro LE

Opening a file

Use the following procedure to open the desired file.

In the File menu, click Open. Alternatively, click the icon located in the

toolbar.

In the Open a Waveform dialog box, use the Files of type pulldown list to

select the type of file that you wish to open. The following files can be

opened in Cool Edit Pro LE.

Select the desired file, and click [Open].

Playback

To play back audio data, use the buttons located in the lower left of the

window.

ACM Waveform wav

Apple AIFF aif, snd

Microsoft ADPCM waveform wav

NeXT/Sun CCITT mu-Law, A-Law and PCM au, snd

Natural MicroSystems (NMS) ADPCM vce

Windows PCM waveform wav

PCM Raw Data pcm

Stop playback.

Play back the waveform region shown in the display, starting at

the dotted yellow line. Alternatively, play back the selected region.

Temporarily pause playback. Click this button once again to

resume playback.

Play back from the location of the dotted yellow line to the end of

the waveform.

Loop-playback the waveform region shown in the display, or the

selected region.
