MIDI Settings
Doing this allows you to play sounds in the TD-3 and
sounds in an external MIDI sound module
simultaneously.
1.
Connect the TD-3’s MIDI OUT connector with a
MIDI cable to the MIDI IN connector of the
external MIDI device.
fig.midi-007.e
2.
Set the external MIDI device’s MIDI receive
channel to 10.
3.
Set the note number to be transmitted from
each pad (p. 60).
Match this to the note number of the sound you wish to
play on the external MIDI sound module or sampler.
This makes the settings that allow performances of the pads to
be recorded by an external MIDI sequencer.
1.
Use MIDI cables to connect the MIDI connectors
of the TD-3 and MIDI sequencer as shown in the
following figure.
fig.midi-008.e
2.
Hold down [INST] and turn the TD-3’s power on.
Local Control is set to “OFF.”
3.
Set both the external MIDI sequencer’s MIDI
transmit and receive channels to 10 if needed.
4.
Start recording on the external MIDI sequencer.
5.
Everything you play on the pads will be
recorded in the sequencer.
6.
When you’re finished, stop recording.
7.
Play the MIDI sequencer, and you’ll hear what
you just recorded.
Here, the TD-3 is used as a sound module. You can connect a
